Last week, Diane Ravitch PhD and former Assistant Secretary of Education had this advice for parents concerned about their students education:
“I think what parents need to do is to go to their schools and say, ‘You know what really matters to me is that my child has adequate time for the arts. I want my child to come to school, not to be tested, but to play an instrument, to sing in a chorus, to join a band, to paint, to do sculpture, to learn to use the computer to do creative things.’ I think that parents should insist upon all the activities in school that lead to healthy and happy and fulfilled children.”

The SCPA is honored to have Professional Dancer/Choreographer, John "Havic" Gregory, choreograph for our students in November! Mr. Gregory's extensive resume includes everything from film and TV to music videos and live tours. He has worked and performed with some of the biggest names in the industry including Prince, Cher, Puff Daddy, Rihanna and Missy Elliot to name a few! Click here to read his resume! 
Our top group, Dance Force, were invited to compete on an episode of Dance Moms! The episode was taped in October and recently aired! Fantastic job!

An ARTS education at Chula Vista School for the Creative and Performing Arts is complete education! The SCPA is a “school with-in a school” located on the the Chula Vista Middle and High School campuses for grades 7-12.
